Altar Angels Teams
The teams prepare the altar for all services including Communion, Rite of Healing and others as required. The members store and maintain the altar par aments, altar cloths, brass and candles. Team members are scheduled one month at a time which equates to about one hour per week during the scheduled month.
Banner Team
The team meets the second Tuesday of each month except December. Each banner takes approximately 6 to 12 hours to complete. Members need to know how to trace, cut, measure and glue. No sewing is involved. New ideas and suggestions welcome.
Blessing of the Animals Team
The team plans and orchestrates this once a year event held in October. The "blessing service" is HLC's gift to all persons with pets as a part of their family in the community. Click here for more information on this mission.
Communion Servers Teams
Team members assist Pastor(s) in the distribution of the sacrament. Some team members assist with the Rite of Healing. The time required is once or twice a month during a regular worship service and occasionally during Lent or on Festival days.
Reader Teams
Team members read the Lessons of the Day from the Bible during worship and are scheduled to read on a regular basis.
Usher Teams
The ushers assist people attending church to locate a seat and direct worshipers during Communion and Rite of Healing. Ushers are divided into teams by service time.
Worship Assistant Team
The WA is responsible for lighting and extinguishing the candles, assisting the Pastor(s) with prayers and communion.
Worship Prep Team
The team coordinates all of the aspects of worship including music and audio/visual components, and plans special services. The team is made up of team leaders in the worship/music area.
