Worship Support

There are many groups within Hope who make the worship experience comforting and meaningful for us.  These groups prepare the sanctuary for services, assist during each service and provide the wonderful music we enjoy.  They are always looking for new faces to help and to provide fresh new ideas to further enhance our worship experience.

Altar Angels

The Altar Angels prepare the alter and the sanctuary for each service.  They see that the correct paraments are displayed,  all of the candles are in place and that the communion vessels are ready.  This team maintains and stores the altar paraments, altercloths, bress and candles.  In addition, they maintain the flower chart and order the flowers.

Assisting Ministers and Communion servers

Assisting Ministers assist the Pastor with liturgy and prayers and with communion. The Communion Servers assist in the distribution of the sacraments. Team members also assist with the Rite of Healing.

Banner Team

The Banner Team meets when needed to assemble banners for the church, usually 3 or 4 times a year. Each banner takes approximately 6 to 12 hours to complete. New members need to know how to trace, cut, measure, and glue to join other team members. No sewing is involved. We can always use new ideas and suggestions.

Greeter Team

This team leader calls the members who have indicated a desire to be a greeter. The greeters provide a welcoming, smiling face to each person as they enter the church to worship. They give them directions, if needed.

Reader Team

Members of the Reader Team share the Lessons of the Day from the Bible with the congregation and are scheduled to read on a regular basis.

Usher Team

This team has three sub-teams: Head Usher; Lead Ushers; Usher at Large. The ushers assist people attending church, and assist the Pastor and his assistants with communion and rite of healing. Ushers report to church 45 minutes to one hour before services to prepare the church for communion, prepare the Order of Service and Newsletters, and take care of any other needs for a particular Sunday. Ushers are provided for special services during the special seasons of the year.
